My Unbroken Hero

This grip wasn't mine...
I thought I had let go-

Then our timeline intertwined...
You tried to abolish my sorrow-

My guilt does not outweigh my weaknesses
I don't know what it's like to remain strong
I even ask the undertow for forgiveness
And the stars I don't wish upon

This hope for life-
Was the origin of your smile...

It brings a certain light-
Allowing lost truths to prevail...
Hail the defenseless
Every tear has a reason
Dreams aren't meaningless
Even souls have seasons

Fear fuels freedom / Combine intention and purpose
All colors brighten / New foundations to harness

For humanity's existence
Kindness has to be selfless
For destiny's persistence
Love needs to be boundless
This empowerment aligned...
I held on-

This connection defied...
Fears came undone-

My gratitude out-shines my faith
As I walk beyond my past limitations
I get to live for another day
Because of your mortal intervention

You turned the tides-
Lifting me up into tomorrow...

And when I saw your eyes-
I knew you were my unbroken hero...
Hands held high
Hopes held tight

Hi, i just wanted to say i thought your poem was beautiful, and i'm wondering if you would be interested in submitting it to a magazine i'm involved with. Our theme this month is "Heroes", and this could fit in well as we are looking for any and all interpretations of that theme. So if you'd be willing to submit this or any other work you've done, then it'd be great if you could check out my journal for more info, and for the email address for literature submissions :) [link]

Thank you!

Thank you for your kind comment. I'm so happy that this has done so well. And that it connected with people in a way I anticipated. Thanks again. <3

I kept the ending the same as in the first version. I really love the ending too. I'm glad it has that effect on others than myself. Thank you. <3

As a poem, this is awful. And fix the I can feel the suffering that your hiding / so no one will know that your badly hurt, where it's you're, and never your. Bad grammar in literature makes me sad.

He sure did not... Frankly, even if they exist or not, I don't think they give a flying fuck about who's fucking who. Now go bother someone else.
