58 (who?)

On The Wings Of A Butterfly

Precious, little cocoon
Recovering from a past life
Shedding an old, tarnished costume
Almost ready to break through to the light
A reason was given
For me to hide away

Inside a solace prison
Where I shall stay

Until the ritualistic tradition
Forces me to adapt and change

Biding time! / Healing wounds!
Courage thrives! / Hope looms!
Pain divides! / Becoming immune!
Eyes shine! / Wings bloom!

The reason has proven
That the power of one can truly overcome

The insults and mockery of evolution
Only fuels the being that I strive to become

The solution is an inner, translucent revolution
And then the path to greatness has only just begun
It's so hard to let go of your armor
But sometimes it's worth to at least try
To open yourself up and make the departure
And take flight...on the wings...of a butterfly
In loving memory of a friend, a son, a grandson, a brother, and an uncle, James Russell-Horimoto. We all love you and miss you dearly. 1990-2009 R.I.P

Read the story in my latest journal ~ Fighting The Demons II__________________________________________________________
A topic I'm rarely going to speak of- I hope it passes by quickly.
My brush with suicide has changed me. As I said before I can do things I couldn't before. For instance, not many know this, but I am able to write poems I wasn't able to write before what happened to me. With my recent poem being released, I have to admit I tried writing and failed numerous times before this finalized piece. There is a long story to what it's really about and what it stands for. Sure, it may just be a page long poem to many, but to me- It's over 5 years of trying to get this piece out and dealt with.
I am 23 years old now. I was 16 when I first started my gaming addiction. One of my first friends online, was named James. He was the first person I ever spoke to through the mic. I never spoke to anyone before him. I started my gaming addiction unknowingly, I used it as an escape from problems, from reality. At 13 I realized I was gay, maybe even s

If you or someone you know is hurting, there is always someone out there to help.
You shouldn't be afraid to speak to others. It really does get better.

This poem is dedicated to my dear friend, James.
I am dedicated my entire project, titled "The Other Side Of The Sky"
To his memory. It will feature "On The Wings Of A Butterfly"
Located in volume seven: Shooting Stars

The Shades Of My Eyes
The Shades Of My Eyes

Treading along a path of healing
Within an aura of rejuvenation

Restore the strongest force of life
Renew these weakening limits of mine

Devotion has no means to an end
There is only hope and strength to be lent
Just like the void called the sky
Even the clouds don't hinder sight

A storm could be brewing
And lightning could be striking

But there is no fear dwelling
Only a calm, tranquil feeling
A rarity itself
An enigma that stands out

A peace that transcends
An energy that ascends

A strong person who is still only human
An outcome of  living within the moment
(I Gave) My Soul (To You)
(I Gave) My Soul (To You)

I'm inadvertently lost in that smile of yours
And in each and every single word that you say
Sometimes I don't even know who I am anymore
As you lead me on a path that I'll never astray

I will keep following you
Because I want you
And every night I can't help but watch you sleep
Down from the countless flickering stars, I'm soaring
And every time I wish I could step into your dream
Through the calming dead of light, I'm falling

I will keep loving you
Because I fell hard for you
While you're slumbering, I put my ear to your welcoming chest
And I can't help but lose myself within the echoing sounds

Great poem. I'm in love with the last verse.

"It's so hard to let go of your armor
But sometimes it's worth to at least try
To open yourself up and make the departure
And take flight...on the wings...of a butterfly"

The ending verse was the hardest part to write out of all. The rest of it came together smoothly in the writing session, except the ending. It took a few tries to finalize everything, but I'm glad it's completed. :D
