Reaching For A Mirror

Listen, sooner or later you're going to have to look me in the eyes, it's unavoidable
It's going to be that time when you let your guard down, your reaction will be recognizable
I don't know if you're able to face me yet, but you need an intervention, because this is personal
You're not going to like what I have to say to you, I know you're going to resist, you're so predictable
-
What exactly do you know? You know NOTHING! Because left you a long time ago
We don't need to talk, you don't even really exist to me, you don't have power anymore
There's nothing you can say to me that might help, not even by a little, so just leave me alone
Don't even speak to me, don't try and "get through" to me, it's useless now, so please, just go
-
I don't know where I went wrong, I've already told you that I've only ever tried my very best
You need to quit being stubborn, stop this foolishness, remember who you are, and never forget
Before you took full control I warned you that this is one decision you're always going to regret
You've always known that you could have never made it on your own, you know better than this
-
You should be thanking me, not lecturing me, I saved you from your apocalypse
I took your bullet, I did what I had to, just so you wouldn't have that fear and experience
It was my choice, and I didn't want you to feel what it was like when everyone started leaving
You don't know -that feeling-, I spared you everything, we both knew it would've happened
-
I can't stand seeing you like this, it isn't right, you're still hurting the both of us in the process
You didn't spare me everything, because the guilt of knowing you took all of that pain of loneliness
So please, let me help again, I'm stronger than you think, you can't keep suffocating your emotions
Everything that you've done was for a reason, you're not wrong, nor right, for you are only human
-
I realize now, I hate to admit this, but I'd rather lose myself than you, without you I'm nothing
I thought all of my battles were won, I thought the war was over, but yet hope is what I'm losing
Every move, every word, every dream, every tear, I don't know if I will ever again feel forgiven
I pushed you away because I didn't want you to suffer what I have, it was my selfless decision
-
I know you're tired, I can see that everyday, I also know you cannot keep all of this up any longer
You gave it your all, you endured more than a lot, you felt every loss, but I refuse to let you fall, ever
You're never alone, even when you think that you are, I want you to see that we're stronger together
I'm begging you to let me help, I know it was unbearable, but with me- it won't be as bad as before

How do you know if I can even turn back now?
How certain are you that I can receive help?

You've got everything to gain...you need this, you deserve this, please, quit punishing yourself
You no longer need to fear, you don't have to keep hiding, you have the right to stand proud
-
Being as damaged as I am / it's just so hard moving on after being torn apart
I don't think I can / but I'm ready for peace of mind and the freedom of my heart
-
This is your life, and realize that you're such a -good person-/ I know you will recover
Look me in the eyes, and believe that you're -so important-/ I promise you...it will get better

We all deserve to live out our lives
We as humans deserve to have a sense of pride
