Time Is The Cure

Right hand of destruction
Left hand of creation

It's a never ending cycle
A fatal revival caught in a downward spiral

I tear down reality’s mask
As I build up a truth to give hope a chance

The veiled darkness decays
The guiding light fades

I let go of an old pain
As new tears wash it away
-
The sun always rises
The moon always sets

The rain subsides
The storm is put to rest

Clouds confide / Memories detest
Skies collide / Cries confessed

Light shines / Dark regrets
Pain hides / Peace professed

A new day awaits
An old night forgotten

Tomorrow I shall awake
To cradle what remains unbroken
-
I can't erase my mistakes
But I can't let them define my fate

There's always control
There's always faith to hold

Opposites are locked together
I am the sinner; I am the confessor

With time- comes change
Agony and serenity dawn a new age

I was told that my hands aren't meant for hurting
I was told that my hands are meant for healing
Time is changing
Time is ceasing

Time is falling
Time is soaring

This poem is written for my project, titled - "The Other Side Of The Sky"
In volume eight: Letting Go

Time Is The Cure -
Flawed Salvation - Flawed Salvation
Flawed Salvation

/Liquid fire\
Sorrow melts and reforms
As heat seeps through my skin
/Frozen water\
Reflections of my childhood are torn
As frost settles on me once again
-
Restless echoes ramble on
Retelling me the stories of yesterday
I remember when my courage was withdrawn
"And you left yourself vulnerable to those crimes of hate."

The liquidsparks flicker
And I wince at that one memory
Then my inner voice suddenly stutters
"I don't know h-how you survived such t-treachery."

Snowflakes descend gracefully
As a cold-burning tear rolls down
I will never know real serenity
"Because all I will ever have is my own."

My Unbroken Hero - My Unbroken Hero
My Unbroken Hero

I didn't want you to stoop so low
Though your gentle grip was amazingly tight
I thought you were eventually going to let me go
But I finally realized you were holding on to me for dear life

My gratitude does not out-weigh my guilt
For I don't know what it's like to remain strong
Every time I try and stand up I always need to be held
So I know a person cannot keep that tough-act up for long

I wish the tables can soon be turned / my hidden courage needs to be found
The hope you gave me will be returned / to stop your tears from hitting the ground

I know your smiles are forced sometimes / you always have to watch your

A Voice In The Wind - A Voice In The Wind
A Voice In The Wind

I can only think of how much I miss you

The pieces of me fall
The time without you stalls

On the inside I know it's wrong
But you're still with me as I carry on
As I try and search for where my heart belongs

I can only remember of how much I loved you

I don't know what I did wrong
I'm so sorry for whatever I've done

Not knowing if I remain unforgiven
I still whisper apologies to try and make a difference
Because I can't take anymore of this lovesick conscience
-
I will always be lost in this storm
As it forever rages on inside of me
Because all I can do now is mourn
While this story becomes a tragedy

Winc

This completes the eighth volume.

Apart from the reference to the New Testament, I must note about several aspects of this poem that interested me to write this. The use of several formats shows a keen sense of style that I found in a few other works till now. The lines with bold type divided by back slash or the italicized type which usually suggests emphasis or asides [internal monologues], for instance. A collage of ideas and expressions that was surely intended. The length and format of this poem, on the whole, was quite fair. There was an essential slanted rhyme in the italics that I detected too. I shall not belabor about the Bible, though. Good work.

Hi, I'm a reader for #Elocutionists! We're dedicated to lending a voice to great DeviantART literature, and I was browsing through deviations. Yours really caught my eye and I'd love to do a spoken word cover. May I have your permission? Once I've read it, I'll link you to the Sta.sh recording :D

It's a cheesy opinion, but I like the part when it says, "Right hand of destruction, Left hand of creation," it reminds be of so much.

It's not digital artwork. Simple terms, it's just a poem with custom-made cover art. I create the poem first, and then I create cover art for it.

There are reasons for everything and I was meant to read this poem. I was in tears last night again mourning the death of my seven year marriage. I am now waiting for March 20th to come so I can board the train to the east coast. All my belongs will be shipped there a day ahead of the train. I hate being in this room, empty with the liveliness of my happiness having been packed away. Now the walls are bare naked white and full of depressive energy. Your poem summed it all up for me and gave me a spark of 'feeling' inside me. Thank you.

Wow, I loved this! Great job! You have good describing words, as well as a plot, detail, emotion, and passion in this. My favorite line was "I am the sinner; I am the confessor"

I came up with the ending right after I thought about how to open it at the beginning. It was basically just difficult to fill in the gap in between.
It was like- "These lines would be perfect, if I just can get the emotion right."

But yeah, I also really love the ending. I'm so glad you enjoyed this one. :)

Most poems i read are really sad and never happy, so i was glad when i read this. I like the varied feel of the poem and the concept is just perfect. It kind of spreads away from the topic but then comes back together at just the right time to make a brilliant peice of writing. :D Awesome job!

Have you read "The Left Hand of Darkness" by Ursula K. LeGuin? This poem reminded me somewhat of the themes of that book.
